BOULDER CITY, Nev. (AP) -- Authorities say a body pulled from Lake Mead earlier this week belongs to an airman who presumably drowned last June.

Clark County coroner's officials identified the man pulled from the water Wednesday as Antonio Clayton Tucker.

Parks officials say the search and recovery organization Earth Resource Group obtained a permit to look for the 28-year-old Tucker, who was last seen in the Boulder Basin on June 23.

The group's search started Monday within a square mile of where Tucker was last seen.

Searchers using side scan sonar detected what appeared to be a body about 280 feet underwater on Tuesday.

The crew and police divers returned Wednesday and brought the body to the surface.

Tucker was from Philadelphia and worked as a drone crew chief at Creech Air Force Base.

A coalition of environmental groups named the Colorado River as the most endangered river in America.

The announcement came Wednesday morning at the Las Vegas Boat Harbor at Lake Mead.

According to American, Rivers, Nuestro Rio, Protect the Flows and the National Young Farmers Coalition, there is too much demand on the Colorado River and not enough effort to reduce water use throughout the Southwest.  

The groups are calling on Congress to initiate a region-wide plan to conserve water from the Colorado River.

"It is not too late. Not all is lost. We are at a critical junction where we can all come together and ensure that it does not get worse," Andres Ramirez, the state director for Nuestro Rio, said.
