Arizona DPS Identifies NV Man Killed in I-15 Crash
News

ST. GEORGE, Utah -- The Arizona Department of Public Safety has identified a 70-year-old Nevada man killed in a crash on Interstate 15 in the Virgin River Gorge.

DPS Sgt. John Bottoms told the St. George Spectrum that investigators think John West Sanford of Boulder City might have been impaired by alcohol or a medical condition before the 8 p.m. Monday wreck on the northbound freeway near Littlefield, Ariz.

Bottoms says Sanford's 2003 Ford F-150 pickup truck struck the concrete median barrier wall, and then hit a 2001 Kenworth tractor-trailer driven by 36-year-old Renato Gallegos-Quiralte of North Las Vegas, Nev.

Gallegos-Quiralte wasn't hurt, and Bottoms says he doesn't face charges in the crash.
