2011 Dam Short Film Festival Kicks Off

BOULDER CITY, Nev. -- For the seventh year, the Dam Short Film Festival has started in Boulder City, Nevada. This year, 133 films will be shown.

The four day festival will has films from nearly every genre. The festival will feature a world premiere screening of Blood Roulette on Friday at 8:00 p.m. Blood Roulette is a sci-fi/horror short packed with high-end special effects. Lee Lanier directed the film and will donate ticket proceeds to the festival. Stars Jenny Savage and Steve Benetier will be present for a question and answer session.

Local filmmakers are highlighted by two other programs -- the Nevada Filmmakers showcase will be held on Friday at 9:00 p.m. and will screen films from up-and-coming Las Vegas filmmakers.

Tickets to each film or showcase are $6 and may be purchased at the door during the event. Four-day passes are also available for $50. All screenings will be held at the Boulder Theatre at 1225 Arizona Street in Boulder City. More information can be found at their website.
