Ancient Native Americans Focus of Museum Lecture

Before there were casinos and subdivisions dotting the southern Nevada landscape, there were the Ancestral Puebloans, an ancient tribe of native Americans.

Those ancient peoples will be the focus of a lecture at the Boulder City Hoover Dam Museum Thursday evening.

Archeologist Dena Sedar will present "Mysteries of Ancestral Puebloans," starting at 6 p.m. in the museum's Segerbloom Theater.

Sedar will focus on stones used by the ancient people, and why archeologists are still trying to unravel the mystery of what appear to be portable rock art.

The lecture is part of the museum's Third Thursday series.
