Food for Fines Offered at Library
Food for Fines Offered at Library

The Boulder City Library is offering a way for people to give to those in need and erase overdue fines.

The library is accepting non-perishable food in exchange for overdue-fine forgiveness until Saturday. Each food item counts for $1 in fine relief. The offer is good up to $10. People can bring their library card, overdue materials and a food item to the circulation desk of the library. Foods such as packaged macaroni and cheese, canned soups, peanut butter and tuna are encouraged.

The food is going to the Boulder City Emergency Aid’s Food Pantry. The pantry is receiving more and more requests from people needing help. Lost or damaged items must still be paid for.
