Free Day at State Museums Saturday

To mark their newly expanded schedules, Nevada’s state museums will offer free admission Saturday.

The seven museums include two in southern Nevada. Train rides at the railroad museum Boulder City will be half-price.

The two southern Nevada locations are:

  • Nevada State Museum – Las Vegas, 309 S. Valley View Blvd. (at Springs Preserve.) Museum galleries are open Thursday through Monday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Research library is open Thursday, 1 p.m. to 6 p.m, Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Adult admission normally is $9.95, which includes access to the Las Vegas Springs Preserve. Call 486-5205 for additional information.
  • Nevada State Railroad Museum, Boulder City, 600 Yucca Street. The museum display pavilion is open daily from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Train rides are offered on Saturday and Sunday with departures at 10 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 1 p.m., and 2:30p.m. Train ride fares vary; call for details at 486-5933.
