Railroad Pass Casino turned 80 Monday.

The casino stands along U.S. 95 between Las Vegas and Boulder City. It will feature specials all week long to celebrate its anniversary. Shrimp cocktails, hot dogs and beer will be 80 cents. There are also deals on rooms and other food.  On Saturday, visitors will be able to get their picture taken in clothing from the 1930's. The Railroad Pass Club opened in 1931. It was the largest casino in the state with 6,000 square feet. At the time of the opening gambling had just been made legal but prohibition was still in place. The casino features pictures and memorabilia from its early days in its own Heritage Room Museum.
"A lot of us and my employees, they know more about the customers than any other place that I could even think of. They know their wives names. They know their grandchildrens' names. They know when their birthdays are. It is just one of those homey places that people like to visit," Sean Holden, Director of Slots, Railroad Pass Casino.
