Police Plan National Night Out

The Boulder City Police Department is inviting everyone out for the annual National Night Out.

This year's event is set for Tuesday, August 2 at Veterans Memorial Park at 6 p.m. Admission is free. The goal of the gathering is to combat crime and drugs. There will be games, jump houses and food for the whole family. There will also be demonstrations from the canine unit and Mercy Air. The highlight of the gathering is again expected to be the softball game between the police and the Boulder City Fire Department. The game is expected to start between 6 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. at Pratt Field.

The whole idea of the festivities is to get the community to know their local police department. The police department is working with the National Association of Town Watch for the event.
