New Additions to Boulder City Hospital Set to Open

The new additions to the Boulder City Hospital are now set to open.

The new 10-bed inpatient geriatric-behavioral medicine center and the 10-bed inpatient acute rehabilitation unit will open officially next week with an opening ceremony Friday, Jan. 24.

The two new programs were part of an effort by the Department of Agriculture, Building Hope Nevada, Rural Community Assistance Corporation, the city of Boulder City and Clark County.

The acute rehabilitation center will focus on helping patients recover from strokes, spinal cord and brain injuries, orthopedic disorders and major trauma.

The geriatric center will focus on behavioral care for people suffering from depression, delusions, mood swings and other psychiatric symptoms.

Sen. Harry Reid will be at the opening ceremony and will tour the new facilities. The new additions were announced last March.
