New Additions to Boulder City Hospital Now Open

Boulder City celebrated a big opening Friday, which has been years in the making.

The hospital's new 10-bed inpatient geriatric-behavioral medicine center and 10-bed inpatient acute rehabilitation unit are now in business.

Sen. Harry Reid, D-Nev., was instrumental in getting a $13 million loan from the USDA for the hospital, and he was on hand for the ceremony.

The acute rehabilitation center will provide care for a variety of conditions, including spinal cord and brain injury, amputation, arthritis and major multiple trauma. The geriatric wing will treat things like depression and other mental health issues.

The new additions were made possible by a collaborative efforts between the USDA rural development, Building Hope Nevada, Rural Community Assistance Corporation, The City of Boulder City, and Clark County.
