PHOTOS: Thousands attend 'Art in the Park' in Boulder City

BOULDER CITY, Nev. -- The Art in the Park Festival is held in the Historic Downtown area of Boulder City. The festival is one of the largest outdoor festivals in the Southwest and it features hundreds of original artists in the fine art, fine/contemporary craft and traditional craft categories. 

There was also food and beverage vendors on hand for patrons who may have experienced a crave for something yummy.



The festival's featured artist for 2014 was Boulder City native, Connie Burnett-Ferraro.  She's commissioned several murals around the town and is recognized for her visual depiction of Boulder City's history from Hoover Dam to the present day.

Art in the Park is composed of 300 artist and it usually draws more than 100,000 visitors each year.  The artist participating in the event donated one piece of artwork for a fundraising raffle equaling more than $25,000 in prizes.

The event raises money for the Boulder City Hospital Foundation. Art in the Park will be held from Oct. 4-5 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
