Library Launches Summer Reading Program Friday | Parents & kids
The Summer Reading Program starts Friday at the Boulder City Library.
The library is giving out weekly prizes for people who read a book and enter the contest. Every week there is a new type of book. The selections include fiction and nonfiction everything from romance to biographies. When a participant is done reading, they complete an entry form at the circulation desk of the library to be part of the weekly drawing. Drawings are every Saturday through August 10. In August, the grand prize of a Sony Touch ebook reader will be given away.
There is also a youth reading program. The library will be giving out kits starting at 11 a.m. Friday. The kits include a reading log where kids can write down all the books they read. Every month the log is turned in, and they’ll receive a new one. There are monthly prizes for the first kids to turn in their journals. There are also grand prizes for kids who complete all three months of reading logs.
