Big Crowd at Lake Mead for July 4 Weekend

 

Statistics from the July 4 weekend show more than 100,000 visitors and a few dozen incidents, according to the National Park Service.

The statistics encompass visitor use and incidentsfrom Friday, July 1 through Monday, July 4 throughout Lake Mead National Recreation Area, which includes both lakes Mead and Mohave.

Park rangers responded to multiple boating accidents and disabled boats in the park as a result of thunderstorms on Sunday. More than 50 park visitors were rescued, saved and/or medically treated as a result of park ranger emergency response during the four-day period.

Total Visitation: 107,906 visits
