Senior Scam Seminar Planned for Boulder City

 

The Nevada State Contractors Board is bringing its message of avoiding scams to Boulder City Monday.

The board is partnering with State Senator Joe Hardy, the Aging and Disability Services Division and the Senior Medicare Patrol Unit to put on workshops designed to help seniors know how to protect themselves.

The workshop is from 10:30 to 11 a.m. at the Boulder City Senior Center, 813 Arizona Street. All seniors are encouraged to attend.

Experts will show seniors how to avoid being scammed and what to do if they have been victimized.

Medicare Experts Offer Help for Seniors

Experts from the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services are in Southern Nevada on Friday to answer questions connected to the contract termination of doctor group Health Care Partners by insurer Health Plan of Nevada.

The healthcare plan will end in September. The experts will offer information on what the termination means for people who saw Health Care Partners doctors on an HPN plan. Experts from the center's regional office will be at the Henderson Senior Center, 300 S Racetrack Rd, from 9:30 am to noon, and at the Boulder City Senior Center, 813 Arizona Street, from 10:30 am to 11:30 am. The sessions are free and open to the public.
