Entrance Fee Waived for Lake Mead Saturday | Sports & Recreation
Going to Lake Mead will not cost a penny Saturday because of National Get Outdoors Day.
The Lake Mead National Recreation Area is waiving all entrance fees. The waiver only applies to entrance fees. There will still be fees for camping, lake use and other special amenities. There are also several activities planned for the day including:
- Beach cleanup at Callville Bay
- Informal talks with park rangers in many areas of the park from Echo Bay to Katherine Landing
- Evening talk about roadrunners at Boulder Beach campground
- Evening talk about spiders and other insects at Cottonwood Cove
The Western National Parks Association store, 601 Nevada Way, will also offer a 15 percent discount on all items, including books, postcards, T-shirts and gifts.
