Improvements to the Callville Bay launch ramp have been delayed by a few weeks because of the weather.

A project to demolish, remove and then replace the launch ramp at the popular boating spot started in August.

According to the Lake Mead National Recreation Area, the project was delayed by the thunderstorms that rolled through southern Nevada in the last few weeks of August.

Recreation area officials also decided to add to the project, including extending a sidewalk and adding striping.

When finished, the launch ramp will have a v-grooved reinforced concrete for better traction and drainage.

The timeline for the launch to be finished is now set for mid-October, park officials said.
