Saturday is the first day of National Park Week, featuring free entry at all national parks. Entrance fees will be waived at Lake Mead National Recreation Area, which includes both Lake Mead and Lake Mohave. The fee waiver only applies to entrance fees and not lake use, camping, or concessioner fees.

Special programs and hikes are scheduled throughout the week. The National Park Service will be hosting Junior Ranger Day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m on Saturday, April 23 at the Boulder Beach picnic area on Lake Mead. Meet Smoky Bear and park rangers, learn about area archaeology and enjoy easygoing ranger-led hikes. Kids (and kids at hear) will be also be able to earn their Lake Mead junior ranger badge.
