Lake Wind Advisory In Effect


A Lake Wind Advisory is in effect for Lake Mead and down the Colorado River valley.

The advisory is in effect until 6 p.m. Thursday. The winds are part of a dry cold front sweeping through southern Nevada.

Gusty winds up to 40 miles per hour or higher are expected for Lake Mead. Stronger winds will move down the Colorado River basin toward Lake Mohave through the afternoon. Rough waters are expected on the lake and boating is discouraged.

The storm brings much cooler temperatures to the southwest for the next couple of days. It is expected to say in the Four Corners region through Saturday. Cooler temperatures and gusty winds are expected along the Colorado River for several days.

Zach Nevin, 11, from Boulder City caught this amazing picture of Monday night's lightning storm over Hemenway Harbor. More rain and flooding is expected in southern Nevada throughout the next few days.

A viewer captured Friday's thunderstorm hitting the Boulder City Horseman's Association.

Local law enforcement reported flash flooding on multiple streets. The most significant flooding was happened on U.S. 93 near the Buchanan intersection. A flash flood warning is in effect until 4 p.m.
