Photo Gallery | Boulder City Student Finalist for High School Heisman Award

A Boulder City High School student received a surprise Tuesday morning when she was named a finalist for Wendy’s High School Heisman Award.

Avalon Frantz is a senior at BCHS, and she was chosen out of 45,000 students around the country who applied. Frantz and the 11 other finalists will now go to New York City where a female and a male winner of the award will be announced.

The winning students will earn a $10,000 donation for their high schools along with recognition during the ceremony for the college Heisman winner.

The students are not just picked because of their excellence as an athlete but they must also excel in academics and community service.
